There’s a lot of great work to be done [at the EMRB] but it’s often gritty work and requires our full attention and full passion to be able to deliver the decisions that are right for the Region.

Mayor Hnatiw actively engages federal, provincial, municipal, and Indigenous leaders to craft future opportunities and push out the boundaries of our economic, environmental, and social potential. For example, through RAMP, the Region is focused on creating value-added agriculture and agri-food sector jobs and increasing the Region’s economic prosperity by an estimated $10 billion.
Mayor Hnatiw provides leadership and vision for the next generation of energy development in the Region, by creating and chairing the Edmonton Region Hydrogen Hub, and as past Chair of the Alberta Industrial Heartland Association, where she remains an active Board member.
Mayor Hnatiw also brings a dynamic voice as a Northern Alberta Mayor and Reeves Caucus member. She works in close partnership with other municipalities through Edmonton Global, the Growth Management Board Rural Caucus and her personal leadership on the Villeneuve Landing Network.
