Impact across the Region
With the Region experiencing unprecedented growth, Mayor Acker believes that EMRB member municipalities must work together to foster resilient communities and maintain a high quality of life. This commitment to building strong partnerships is evident in the Tri-Region, through the close working relationships that exist between Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and Parkland County.
Spruce Grove was the first community in Alberta to prepare an open space master plan in 1972. Local leaders, including Mayor Acker, have continued to demonstrate leadership in open space planning and sustaining natural living systems and environmental assets. Regional assets, both natural and built, are critical to attracting investment and jobs and retaining talent to ensure the Region remains economically competitive.
Mayor Acker is also a member of other regional organizations including Edmonton Global, Edmonton Regional Airports Authority, the Collaborative Economic Development initiative and the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce.
