Purpose: To monitor job creation trends, supporting economic policymaking and workforce development. It serves as an indicator of the Region’s economic health and competitiveness.
Current Trends: The Region experienced significant employment growth, with increases of 10.8% from 2006 to 2011 and 7.2% from 2011 to 2016, highlighting robust job creation and effective economic policies. However, a 2.0% decline from 2016 to 2021 was largely due to the pandemic and challenging global economic conditions.
